Game One
After giving up four Bulldog runs in the top of the first, the Terriers put together a comeback that included a single run in the first, second, fourth, and sixth innings, and Josh Hyman's two-run homer in the seventh.
The final score of 6-5 was reached with a Samford solo homer in the ninth.
Eric Eck, who pitched nearly three innings of relief to close out the game, earned the win, his second of the season.
Game Two
An impressive offensive showing from the Terriers, cemented by Jessie Morris' strong outing, led Wofford to a 10-2 victory over Samford in game two of the doubleheader.
The Terriers scored three runs in the first, and added two more in the second to go up 5-0. In the seventh and eighth innings, the Bulldogs scored two runs off a solo homer and a sacrifice fly, respectively.
A five-run burst in the eighth put the Terriers ahead 10-2 and finished off the night's scoring.
Morris(8-6) earned the win, recording six strikeouts while walking three batters.
Highlights
- The Terriers earned their thirtieth win today. This ties the school record, putting this years' squad in the same company as the 1991 and 2007 teams.
- With today's wins, Wofford sealed their first winning record since 1992.
- Since the defeat at South Carolina, Wofford has won five out of the last six, including a three-game sweep of UNCG.
- SoCon Tourney play for the Terriers will begin on Wednesday, against, yep, you guessed it: Samford.
