Series Salvaged: Terriers Sweep Doubleheader, Earn #6 Seed, Bye in SoCon Tourney

Wofford earned a bye and a six-seed in the upcoming SoCon Tournament with a doubleheader sweep of the Samford Bulldogs.

Game One

After giving up four Bulldog runs in the top of the first, the Terriers put together a comeback that included a single run in the first, second, fourth, and sixth innings, and Josh Hyman's two-run homer in the seventh.

The final score of 6-5 was reached with a Samford solo homer in the ninth.

Eric Eck, who pitched nearly three innings of relief to close out the game, earned the win, his second of the season.

Game Two

An impressive offensive showing from the Terriers, cemented by Jessie Morris' strong outing, led Wofford to a 10-2 victory over Samford in game two of the doubleheader.

The Terriers scored three runs in the first, and added two more in the second to go up 5-0. In the seventh and eighth innings, the Bulldogs scored two runs off a solo homer and a sacrifice fly, respectively.

A five-run burst in the eighth put the Terriers ahead 10-2 and finished off the night's scoring.

Morris(8-6) earned the win, recording six strikeouts while walking three batters.
