WOLI Rising

From about 2005 to 2012, ESPN Spartanburg was the place to find Wofford Athletics.  For the 2012 season, they moved to WOLI-AM/FM.

As we know all too well, ESPN Spartanburg (WSPG-FM) was tragically knocked off the air in a tree-cutting accident on January 11.  Not only was USC-Upstate basketball affected, but more prominently, the immensely popular Open Mic Daily was lost from its faithful listeners. 

Luckily, some decisions were made to bring some Upstate programming to "The Source"(WOLI) while the regular season was wrapping up.


Just as tragically, ESPN unaffiliated with WSPG and moved to another station, creating "ESPN Upstate". Then, on March 1, the news everyone wanted to hear broke on ESPN Spartanburg's Facebook Page: Open Mic Daily was returning on March 10th, on WOLI.  Still in its old format, the show will air 3-6 PM (EST).

The station, aptly dubbed "Spartanburg, South Carolina (and the World's) Source" on its twitter page, now features the Wofford/IMG Sports Network, Open Mic Daily, Awake With Drake, Clemson Basketball, and Charlotte Bobcats basketball, along with the "timeless classics" format.
