SoCon Tried and True

Tonight's SoCon Championship game features Wofford and Davidson Western Carolina.
The Terriers have looked great the last two games, cruising past The Citadel and Georgia Southern.
More importantly, this championship features two teams that are staying in the SoCon next year. It could have been different, as both Wofford's and WCU's semifinal opponents  (Georgia Southern and Davidson, respectively) are leaving. As Wofford play-by-play voice Mark Hauser put it last night, Georgia Southern is "riding off into the Sun.....Belt."  The Wildcats, on the other hand, are joining the Atlantic 10.  Also departing are Appalachian State and Elon, while the SoCon adds Mercer, VMI, and ETSU. (Mercer clenched an NCAA Tournament bid yesterday, defeating Florida Gulf Coast in the Atlantic Sun championship). Regardless of who wins tonight, the team that will represent the conference in the Big Dance will be a true representative, a faithful SoCon team.

That being said, How Bout Them Dawgs?
