It just so happened to take place on 'Anchorman Night' at Snyder Field.
Aptly so, the Terriers lifted their record to 5-3 overall following a 4-3 victory over Eastern Tennessee State on Tuesday night. The match, which served as Wofford's Southern Conference opener, saw a pair of goals from Matthew Aurendnik and one each from Charlie Keeley and Connor Davis. Aurednik was tagged with SoCon Player of the Week honors following his impressive outing.
The Terriers will next storm the pitch at UNC-Greensboro, in a 7:00 P.M. Eastern match on October 4th.
Terrier volleyball opens SoCon schedule with a victory: Last Friday in Charleston, the Wofford volleyball team defeated The Citadel in three sets (25-21, 25-20, 25-16), effectively improving to 8-9 overall. Tonight, the Terriers fell to Furman in three sets (23-25, 16-25, 23-25), but a bright spot of the match was the reaching of 1,000 career kills for Taylor Baird.
Men's tennis logs strong outing at Gardner-Webb Fall Classic: The Terriers went 4-0 in doubles play (Rob Galloway/Harris Poric def. Dan Elston/Florian Uffer [8-10], David Sklar/Trevor Gotowski def. Alphonso Castellano/Steed Johnson [8-4], Walker Heffron/Andrew Graham def. Bharani Sankar/Lachlan Manser [8-3]) last week at the Gardner-Webb Fall Classic, which served as the club's fall opener. Wofford finds themselves back in action soon, as they will be a part of the field at the Belton Tournament.
