Free throws, solid rebounding keep Wofford afloat at Presbyterian

Wofford took its first lead over Presbyterian midway through the first half and never gave it up in a 68-58 victory.

Not at easy as it sounds.

Wofford's battle with Idaho shoved into same old category

Wofford is no stranger to walking off higher-division fields with a collective dejectedness about the team.

A player's coach: Romero sent Breitenstein on path to success

In the world of college football, where a program's luck can shift on a single play and attitudes swirl around wildly during the course of a season, distinct eras can't help but pop up.

In 1981, eventual national champion Clemson came calling, and Wofford answered

Wofford, as is the case with a bevy of other programs competing in the aggressive FCS tier of Division I football play, has often served as a kind of extempore scheduling afterthought. More than any statistic, selflessness and respect constitute this program

No one said that it would be easy. As we begin with that startling, yet obvious revelation, it's clear to see just how tough it is for a defending league champion to even make it back to the title game. When you make it to the dance, after all, the remainder of the conference grows envious, and it's around this time of year that everyone begins thinking, "Why not us?"

Twelve seasons ago, Wofford was in familiar situation

When Mike Young, who had served as an assistant under Richard Johnson for over a decade, inherited the program in 2002, perhaps no one quite knew what a dynasty was about to ensue. Likewise, no one could have predicted that, twelve seasons later, a squad in a completely different position could be fixed in a familiar situation.
