Terriers looking for victory, morale boost in final game before SoCon play

"...The best football team I've ever gone against."

Dewey Lusk, then in his first year at the helm of the University of Virginia at Wise football program, had that to say about Wofford following the Highland Cavaliers' 47-14 defeat at the hands of the Terriers in 2011.

When Lusk, an Emory and Henry College alumnus that is now in his third season at UVA-Wise, walks his beat on the visitor's sideline at Gibbs Stadium on Saturday, he will see a very different ball club in the Terriers (1-2), who will look to gain some traction, and more importantly, some kind of morale boost as they head deeper into this 2014 campaign, and subsequently, into the tough SoCon matchups.

Obviously, there are few to no factors with which to compare teams that were fielded several seasons ago. With that in mind, it's no use to try to talk about what will happen this Saturday with only a past result to rely on.

Hopefully, though, the Terriers won't have anything to worry about tomorrow.

It's never good to sleep on any opponent, and UVA-Wise is no exception. This game will, in thought, be an easy time for Wofford.

However, what happens on the field can be far away from what exists in thought.

The game should provide many opportunities for the Terriers to improve and continue to get into a position to reach the goals that this team has the potential for.

Prediction - Wofford 52, UVA-Wise 20
